Roman Trattnig

Roman Trattnig is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in optoelectronic components, specializing in light-emitting and photovoltaic technologies. Currently serving as Deputy Group Head Light and Optical Technologies and Senior Scientist at JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH since March 2018, Roman leads the management of research projects and coordinates national and international collaborations. Previous roles include Department Head of Optical Engineering at XAL, where Roman oversaw optical system development, and Project Manager Technical Optics at Wild GmbH, focusing on optomechatronic products in the medical sector. Roman also contributed significantly as a Key Researcher at NanoTecCenter Weiz, leading groups focused on organic light-emitting devices and nanocomposite solar cells. Roman earned a Doctor of Engineering Sciences and a Diplom-Ingenieur in Technical Physics from Technische Universität Graz.
