Director, Center For Apprenticeship And Work-based Learning at Jobs for the Future

Krysti Specht has an extensive and diverse work experience. Krysti is currently working at Jobs for the Future as the Director of the Center for Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning. Prior to this, they worked at the City and County of San Francisco as a Senior Workforce Developer and Policy Analyst for the TechSF initiative. In this role, they led various projects such as creating and leading the Apprenticeship Bay Area initiative, managing strategic partnerships, and organizing events. Krysti also played a significant role in the growth of registered apprenticeships through grant funding.

Before their position at the City and County of San Francisco, Krysti worked as the Director of State Outreach Initiatives at the Council for Opportunity in Education, where they developed statewide and national initiatives to support TRIO advocacy and sustainability. Krysti also has experience working at the Japanese Community Youth Council as the Associate Director of College Access Programs and Educational Advisor. In these roles, they managed college access and educational programming for multiple public school sites and worked closely with low-income and first-generation students on goal setting, college admissions, and educational planning.

Earlier in their career, they worked at UCSF as a Program Analyst, where they organized and measured evaluation data, coauthored analytical evaluation reports, and coordinated college materials for a summer program.

Krysti Specht's education history consists of obtaining a Masters in Policy Management from Georgetown University in 2015-2016. In 2019, they attended ETH Zürich's CEMETS - The ETHZ Reform Lab for VET Systems. Prior to that, they attended San Francisco State University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) and Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in Public Health Education and Promotion and English Literature. Krysti also attended Fullerton College from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in University Studies.
