Maria H. has a diverse work experience in engineering and education. Maria started their career as a Signals and Systems Tutor at Learning Support Services in 2015. After that, they worked as a Test and Production employee at Abbott Technologies for three months. Following this, Maria served as a Senior Design Project team member at Plantronics, where they developed a testing unit for RF parameters of headsets and bases. Maria also worked as a Grader at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and as a Technology Integration and Test Support Team member at NASA Langley Research Center. Maria then joined Lumenetix Inc. as an Electrical Engineer, where they developed GUIs, control software, and automated test equipment. Maria later joined Plantronics as a Reliability Engineer, and then worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they assisted students with various academic tasks. In 2019, Maria held the position of Electrical & Software Engineer at NASA Ames Research Center before joining Joby Aviation as a Software Verification Engineer in Operations.

Maria began their academic journey at Glendale Community College in 2010, where they completed the necessary transfer requirements before moving on to the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2013. At UC Santa Cruz, Maria successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2016. Undeterred by their achievements, they continued their academic pursuit and graduated from the same institution with a Master's degree in Computer Engineering in 2018.
