Staff Human Factors Engineer, Flight Deck And Avionics at Joby Aviation

Mark Nikolic, PhD has over 20 years of work experience in the field of human factors engineering and aviation. Mark is currently employed at Joby Aviation as a Staff Human Factors Engineer, focusing on flight deck and avionics. Prior to that, they spent over 16 years at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where they held various roles including Human Factors Systems Engineer, Flight Deck Displays, and Human Factors Specialist, Flight Deck Research and Development. At Boeing, they led the development and evaluation of flight deck touchscreen interfaces for the 777X, developed detailed engineering and human factors design requirements for flight deck display interfaces and hardware, and executed pilot-in-the-loop test plans in flight simulators. Before joining Boeing, Mark worked as a Lecturer at The Ohio State University and as an Intern at Airbus Group, where they conducted research on flight crew communication task demands and practices. Additionally, they were a Visiting Student at IMASSA. Mark's extensive experience and expertise in human factors engineering make him a valuable asset in the aviation industry.

Mark Nikolic, PhD, pursued their education in Cognitive Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained their Ph.D. degree. Prior to that, they attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1996 to 1999, earning an MS in Psychology with a specialization in Human Factors. Their educational journey began at the same institution, where they received their BS in Psychology in 1996.
