Nate Martin

Lead, Electrical Engineering at Joby Aviation

Nate Martin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Nate began their career as a Hardware Intern at CellNet Data Systems in 1999. In 2000, they worked as Technical Support at The Mondotronics Robot Store. Nate joined Apple in 2001 as a Hardware Engineering Intern and later became a Senior Hardware Engineer on the MacBook Pro system team. Nate played a key role in bringing various models of the notebook computer to production. In 2010, Nate transitioned to Tesla, where they served as a Staff Electrical Engineer and Manager in Battery Systems. Nate was a lead electrical engineer for projects such as the RAV4-EV, Model-S, and Model-3 Battery Module Boards. Nate also managed the battery manufacturing test for the Model-3. In 2017, Nate joined Joby Aviation and currently holds the positions of Lead, Electrical Engineering and Lead - Battery and High-Speed Electronics.

Nate Martin attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
