Rashed Islam

Rashed Islam is an accomplished professional in the field of product integrity and hardware reliability, currently serving as the Head of Product Integrity for Transit, Bikes, and Scooters at Lyft since February 2022. Prior experience includes significant roles at Google, where Rashed served as AR Reliability Technical Lead Manager and Nest Staff HW Reliability Engineer, earning multiple awards such as the Hardware Nesties for Best Root Cause Analysis and Product Excellence, as well as the Nest Top Talent Award. Rashed holds two US patents and has a robust track record in system-level reliability for various Nest thermostat products. Previous positions include Reliability Engineer at Lab126 for the Kindle Paperwhite, Reliability/Failure Analysis Engineer at Lumileds, and participation in material development and research across several educational and industry settings. Academically, Rashed earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and advanced degrees in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
