Shen Zhang

Shen Zhang has a diverse work experience in the field of motor control engineering. They currently work at Joby Aviation as a Senior Motor Control Engineer since May 2022. Prior to that, from August 2019 to December 2021, Shen worked as a Motor Control Engineer at the same company. Shen's academic background includes a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they worked as a PhD Candidate from August 2014 to May 2019. Shen has also gained research experience through internships at MERL, where they worked as a Research Intern from May 2018 to August 2018, and at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where they worked as a Research Intern from January 2013 to March 2013. Shen's industry internships include working at Tesla Motors as an Intern from May 2016 to August 2016, and at Eaton Corporate Research & Technology as a Project Intern from January 2014 to June 2014.

Shen Zhang has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical Engineering. They first attended The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China from 2007 to 2010, where they completed their high school education. Shen then went on to study at Harbin Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering.

Continuing their education, Shen pursued higher studies at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2017. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Shen further expanded their education at the same institute, pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 2014 to 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Shen Zhang has a certification in Passive Power Filter Parameter Design Software. This certification was obtained in March 2013 from the State Intellectual Property Office of China.
