Jorge Chacon

Jorge Chacon has over 30 years of experience in various roles related to business development, technical advisory, and project management. Their recent work includes serving as the Director of Business Development at John Cockerill, where they focus on expanding the company's presence in the MENA region. Prior to that, they worked as an External Technical and Commercial Advisor at ARAB TANKER SERVICES, providing strategic planning and problem-solving support to the company. Jorge also held positions at Amplex Emirates LLC and EUS Energy Storage, where they served as a Business Unit Head and Co-founder, respectively, specializing in battery energy storage and product management. Earlier in their career, Jorge held key roles at CEGASA INTERNACIONAL, INECOSA, TECNALIA Research & Innovation, MECET Energetic Improvements in Thermal Head Plants, and the Faculty of Engineering at Bilbao. Jorge is well-versed in areas such as energy storage systems, thermal power plants, research and development, and project management. Jorge Chacon received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Thermal and Renewable Power Plant from Camaguey University in 1988. Jorge then pursued a Master's Degree in Renewable Energies from the University of Oriente, which they completed in 1998. Jorge later attended the University of the Basque Country and earned a Doctorate in Renewable Energy in 2003. In 2015, they completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program in Business Administration from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.
