Burkhard Steuernagel

Burkhard Steuernagel has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Burkhard started as an undergraduate student at Rothamsted Research in 2004. Burkhard then joined IPK Gatersleben in 2005, where they worked as a Bioinformatician and later as a PhD student until 2012. After that, they continued their research as a Postdoctoral researcher at The Sainsbury Laboratory from 2012 to 2014. Since 2014, Burkhard has been working at the John Innes Centre, initially as a Postdoctoral researcher and later as a Senior Bioinformatician. Currently, they hold the role of Head of Informatics at the same organization.

Burkhard Steuernagel completed their education in two different universities. Burkhard attended Bielefeld University from 1998 to 2005, where they obtained a degree in Diplominformatiker, which is comparable to a Master's degree in Computer Science. Burkhard'sfield of study was Bioinformatics. Following this, from 2010 to 2012, they enrolled at Friedrich Schiller University Jena for their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Burkhard'sfield of study remained Bioinformatics.
