Devon Armstrong has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. They started their career as a Registered Nurse at Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital in 2006. After that, they worked as a Charge Nurse at Cook Children's Health Care System from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Devon joined the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Lead Nurse until 2013. They then moved on to JPS Health Network, where they held various positions, including RN Case Manager from 2014 to 2016, Practice Manager in the Medicine Specialty Clinics from 2016 to 2017, Manager of Outpatient Care Management from 2017 to 2018, Director of Outpatient Care Management from 2018 to 2023, and their current role as the Executive Director of Care Management. In their current position, they are responsible for overseeing and directing the operational effectiveness of inpatient and outpatient care management and clinical integration activities. Their work focuses on promoting seamless post-acute transitions between care settings and facilitating the appropriate use of healthcare resources, while fostering a patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery.
Devon Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from The University of Texas at Arlington, which was awarded in 2005. In 2006, they obtained their certification as a Registered Nurse from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. They further advanced their education by earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a concentration in Leadership and Management from Walden University between 2014 and 2016. In 2013, Devon also obtained certification as an Ambulatory Care Nurse (RN-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Additionally, in 2015, they became a Certified Case Manager through the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC).
