Glenn Christiansen has a comprehensive work experience in health, safety, and sustainability roles in the construction industry. Glenn is currently the Head of Health & Safety for the UK Construction and Group Civils Division at John Sisk & Son Ltd. In this role, they work towards achieving a vision of zero accidents and incidents through strategies that emphasize leadership and engagement.
Prior to their current position, Glenn served as the Safety, Health, Compliance and Business Assurance Director at Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM, where they established strategies and programs for ensuring the highest standards of delivery on the Phase One High Speed 2 railway.
Before that, Glenn held various roles at Carillion Construction Services, including Health, Safety and Sustainability Director, Head of Health, Safety and Sustainability, and Senior Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager. In these positions, they developed and implemented long-term strategies, created annual programs, and influenced the larger business through initiatives like a worker involvement program.
Glenn's career also includes a stint as a Health and Safety Advisor at Carillion Building, and as a Civil/Safety Engineer at Vauxhall Motors Limited, where they rose through job grades and contributed significantly to industry initiatives, such as chairing the CDM Duty Holders Group and participating in the launch of revised CDM Regulations.
Glenn Christiansen completed a BSC Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health from the British Safety Council in 2008. In 2009, they obtained a Line Management degree from the Institute of Leadership and Management. Furthermore, in 2014, they obtained a Certificate in Environmental Management from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. Glenn also has a certification called DipOSH from BSC.
