Steve Sorenson has a diverse range of work experience in various leadership roles. Steve started their career at The Schwan Food Company, where they held positions such as Regional Training Manager, Manager of Solutions Design and Delivery, and Director of Learning and Development. During their time at The Schwan Food Company, they were responsible for training and development in the Supply Chain arm of the company and led the implementation of Lean principles.
In 2013, Steve joined Johnsonville as a Continuous Improvement Coach, where they led a team in implementing Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies. Steve then served as the Plant Coordinator at Momence Packing, where they focused on organizational culture change and front-line member engagement. Steve later became the Group Director Operations, Ready-to-Eat Products at Johnsonville, coaching operations leaders and developing strategic goals that drive growth and profitability.
Currently, Steve holds the position of Senior Director of Learning and Culture at Johnsonville, where they lead the Organizational Learning team and Operations Member Services. Their main responsibilities include developing an environment that fosters the development of employees' talents and partnering with leaders on performance, succession, organizational development, and member relations.
Throughout their career, Steve has demonstrated strong leadership, coaching, and change management skills, with a focus on driving efficiency and growth in manufacturing and production facilities.
Steve Sorenson earned their bachelor's degree in Business Communication from Jones International University from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they attended Gustavus Adolphus College from 1990 to 1991, but did not obtain a degree or field of study information. Additionally, Steve Sorenson holds additional certifications, including CTT+ (ibstipi) obtained in 2003 and a DDI Facilitator certification.
