Alberto Rodriguez is a highly experienced professional in the field of biotechnology and bioenergy, currently serving as the Director of Pretreatment Optimization and Process Integration at the Joint BioEnergy Institute since May 2015. In this role, Alberto specializes in optimizing biomass pretreatment technologies and developing efficient solvent recovery methods. Concurrently, Alberto holds several positions at Sandia National Laboratories, including Principal Member of the Technical Staff, where projects focus on microbial depolymerization of lignin and bioenergy feedstock fermentation. Alberto's previous experience includes roles as Senior Member of the Technical Staff and Postdoctoral Appointee, as well as an Assistant Engineer at CNRS, and a PhD student at the Instituto de Biotecnologia UNAM. Alberto earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, complemented by a Master of Science in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from other prestigious institutions.
