Dr Shwetha Akshaya

Dr. Shwetha Akshaya has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr Shwetha started their career as a healthcare trainer in April 2010 and has a passion for teaching. In 2015, Dr. Akshaya became a JCI International Consultant at the Joint Commission International. Dr Shwetha has also worked as a Quality, Patient Safety & Accreditation Consultant for various organizations. Dr. Akshaya has served as an Adjunct Professor at Higher Colleges of Technology, Britts Imperial University College, and M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. Dr Shwetha was a Visiting Scholar at Chitkara University in 2021. Additionally, Dr. Akshaya has held leadership positions such as Senior Manager for Quality and Patient Safety at PureHealth and Member Job Analysis - Chief Digital Health Strategist at HIMSS. Dr Shwetha has also worked as a healthcare transformational strategist and transformation consultant at Cerner Corporation from 2018 to 2019.

Dr. Shwetha Akshaya has a diverse and extensive education history. In 2015, they attended Harvard Medical School and completed an Associate's Degree in Quality and Safety. Dr Shwetha then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Chitkara University, graduating in 2021.

During this time, Dr. Akshaya also obtained several certifications related to healthcare quality. In 2020, they became Certified in Medical Quality (CMQ) from the American Board of Medical Quality. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Healthcare Quality Professional (CPHQ) certification from CPHQ in 2022.

Dr. Akshaya also pursued several other certifications in the field. In 2014, they obtained the FISqua certification from Isqua, focusing on healthcare. Dr Shwetha also completed the Clinical Microsystems Coach program from Dartmouth Clinical Microsystems Academy in 2016.

Furthermore, Dr. Akshaya has a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma from Annexas Consulting Group, which they earned in 2010. Earlier in their education, they completed a Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) from Fr Muller Medical College, RGUHS in 2007. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Preventive Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, which they obtained in 2004.

In terms of additional certifications, Dr. Akshaya obtained the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) in 2020 and again in 2021. Dr Shwetha also holds the Associate in Information Technology (AIT) certification from the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. Lastly, they completed the Safety Quality Informatics Leadership program from Harvard Medical School, Boston.
