Lauren Schmidt

Lauren Schmidt, MSW, LICSW, APHSW-C, serves as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington School of Social Work and as a therapist at Joon Care and Lauren Schmidt Counseling, PLLC. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Lauren specializes in assisting individuals and families through trauma, illness, grief, and life transitions, with a particular focus on supporting healthcare workers. Previously, Lauren held significant roles in palliative care, including Social Work Lead for Palliative Care Clinical Rotations at the University of Washington Medical Center and Palliative Care Consultant at Seattle Children's. Additional experience includes various social work positions, including a focus on renal transplant patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and mental health management at Brooklyn Hospital PATH Center. Lauren earned an MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work and a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Puget Sound.
