Matthias Kempgen

Matthias Kempgen has extensive work experience in the financial industry, particularly in the field of clearing and derivatives operations. Matthias has held various roles in the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), including Chief Information & Operating Officer - JSE Clear, Head of Derivatives Operations, Application Portfolio Manager for Derivatives Clearing and Pricing Systems, and Service Delivery Manager and Application Manager for Derivatives Trading and Clearing Systems. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing teams, implementing and monitoring technology solutions, and ensuring efficient clearing and settlement of derivative markets. Matthias has also worked as a Product Owner at IRESS. Matthias Kempgen's work experience spans from 1997 to the present.

Matthias Kempgen completed their education in a chronological order. From 1982 to 1990, they attended Deutsche Schule Johannesburg and obtained their Matric degree, along with A levels. Following this, in 1993, they pursued a Commercial Apprenticeship at KAEFER Isoliertechnik. During the same year, they also attended Gymnasium an der Gartenstrasse and earned their German Abitur, with a focus on Post Matric studies.

In addition to their educational background, Matthias Kempgen obtained a certification from the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) in September 2012, provided by Unisa.
