Don Edwards has extensive experience working in the field of alternative dispute resolution and civic engagement. Mencer Donahue "Don" is currently the Owner/Principal/CEO of Justice and Sustainability Associates, LLC, a firm based in Washington, DC that specializes in sustainable development, environmental justice, and smart growth policy. Throughout their career, Don has held various positions including Senior Associate at America Speaks, Board Member at EcoDistricts and Casey Trees, and Member of the Sustainability External Advisory Council at The Dow Chemical Company. Mencer Donahue "Don" has also contributed to the development of environmental policies and initiatives as Chair of the Environmental Justice Working Group at the President's Council for Sustainable Development and as National Co-Chair of the Citizens Network for Sustainable Development. Don's expertise and leadership have been recognized through their appointment as Treasurer on the Board of EcoDistricts and as Coordinator at the Washington Regional Equity Network. Additionally, they have shared their knowledge as a Faculty member at DC Neighborhood College and as National Coordinator for the US Network for Habitat ll.
Don Edwards pursued their education in a sequential manner, beginning in 1969. Mencer Donahue "Don" attended Duke University from 1969 to 1973 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and History. Following this, they enrolled at Yale University in 1982 and completed their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Community Health Nursing in 1986. Simultaneously, from 1984 to 1986, Don pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Non-Physician Health Officer at Yale University.
