Henning has spent his 30 year career in robotics, with a focus on agricultural and exploration robotics. In 2001, he co-founded HyperActive Technologies which was acquired by Acrelec in 2016, where he then lead the engineering team. Prior to that he was Chief Software Engineer at TPresence. Henning spent the first 15 years of his career at the Field Robotics Center at Carnegie Mellon University, during which time he became Assistant Director of Software Engineering for the National Robotics Engineering Center.
Henning holds a MSEE and BSEE from Carnegie Mellon University.
