Rocky Thomas Pierce has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Rocky Thomas started their career as a Supervisor at Old Town Farm Market in 2009 and later became an Assistant Produce Manager at Sunshine Market. In 2012, they worked as a Sales Associate at EB Games Canada.
Rocky's passion for game design led him to pursue roles at Vancouver Film School, where they served as a Volunteer 2D Game Design Mentor, Technical Teaching Assistant, and Level Design Teaching Assistant.
In 2015, Rocky joined The Coalition Studio as a Software Test Engineer, focusing on various aspects of game testing for the Gears of War franchise. Rocky Thomas handled Campaign Gameplay QA, Multiplayer Lab QA, Services QA Point of Contact, and Versus QA.
Continuing their career in game design, Rocky became a Game Designer at Ultra Creative Games in 2018. Rocky Thomas led a team in developing three prototype games for children, focusing on gameplay, level design, documentation, tuning, scripting, and more.
Rocky further expanded their game design skills as a Game Designer at Nexus Media Limited in 2019. Rocky Thomas contributed to the launch of the mobile RTS game "Paragon Kingdom: Arena" by working on bug fixing, user experience, balancing, and polish.
In 2019, Rocky joined SkyBox Labs as a Level Designer, applying their expertise in creating game levels.
Most recently, Rocky has been working at Kabam as a Quest Designer and Champion Designer since 2020, where they play a crucial role in designing quests and champions for their games.
Throughout their career, Rocky has showcased their passion for game design, honing their skills in various roles and delivering impactful contributions to the gaming industry.
Rocky Thomas Pierce began their education journey by obtaining a High School Diploma in General Studies from Queen Elizabeth High School, where they studied from 2001 to 2007. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a higher education degree at Okanagan College from 2008 to 2011. During this time, Rocky earned an Associate of Science Degree (A.S.) with a focus on Physics and Astronomy. Building upon their academic achievements, they later attended Vancouver Film School from 2013 to 2014, where they obtained a Game Design Diploma, specializing in the field of Game Design.
