Jim Barren

Jim Barren's work experience is as follows:

- From 2013 to present, they have served as the Vice President of Global Manufacturing at Kalsec Inc. Jim is responsible for overseeing production and quality control/lab operations at Kalsec Southwest in Texas, as well as hops extract production in Michigan. Jim also manages the Global Process Development and Engineering group and tolling activities.

- From 2011 to 2013, they held the position of Director of Global Hops Manufacturing, Tolling and Process Technologies at Kalsec Inc.

- From 2011 to 2011, they were the Director of Tolling and Process Technologies at Kalsec, Inc., where they were responsible for identifying and implementing new manufacturing technologies.

- From 2002 to 2011, they worked at Kalsec, Inc. as the Director of Product & Process Development. Their role involved extracting herbs & spices, developing flavor blends and natural colorants, and producing modified hop extracts for the brewing industry.

- From 2001 to 2002, they served as the Manager of Global Sourcing Flame Retardants at GE Plastics. Jim was responsible for purchasing flame retardants for plastics and supporting plant sites around the world.

- From 1999 to 2001, they were employed at GE as the Global Sourcing Technology Manager. Their main focus was on developing and leading 6 sigma processes for qualifying new suppliers of GE Plastics raw materials.

- From 1997 to 1999, they held the position of Certified Six Sigma Black Belt at GE Plastics. Jim solved quality issues and provided leadership, training, and mentoring for the business.

- From 1994 to 1997, they worked as a Color Technologist at GE Plastics. Their responsibilities included developing UV stable colorants and formulations, setting international color specifications, and resolving manufacturing color processing issues.

- From 1985 to 1994, they worked as a Research Chemist at GE Research & Development. Jim gained experience in various areas of chemistry, including polyimide chemistry, antioxidant chemistry, polycarbonate hardcoat removal processes, and PCBs degradation chemistry.

Jim Barren has a diverse educational background in the field of Chemistry. From 1976 to 1980, they attended Canisius University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Jim then pursued further studies at Cornell University, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Physical Organic Chemistry from 1980 to 1982. Continuing their academic journey, Jim obtained a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from Cornell University, where they studied from 1982 to 1985. Additionally, they possess a certification as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from General Electric, although the specific time of obtaining this certification is not available.
