Jake Cooper

Jake Cooper is a skilled professional with a diverse background in public service and the funeral industry. Currently serving as a Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice at Cooke Funeral Home and Crematorium since September 2023 and as an Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer at Hafer Funeral Home since October 2019, Jake has developed expertise in funeral services. Prior experience includes notable roles such as Deputy Sheriff/Bomb Squad member with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office from July 2018 to October 2023, Patrolman with the Charleston Police Department from June 2014 to July 2018, and County Medical Examiner at the West Virginia State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner from January 2014 to May 2016. Additionally, Jake owned and operated Precision Turf and Landscaping, LLC from January 2008 to May 2019, demonstrating entrepreneurial skills and certification as an Arborist. Jake is a graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy.
