Saara Karhunen

Saara Karhunen is a seasoned curator currently serving as the Curator of Collections at Kansallisgalleria | Finnish National Gallery, specifically at Kiasma, since December 2022. Prior roles include Curator at HAM Helsinki Art Museum from January 2021 to November 2022, Chief Curator of Exhibitions at Pori Art Museum in 2020, and Supporting Curator at HIAP - Helsinki International Artist Programme in mid-2019. Karhunen's experience encompasses various positions in the contemporary art sector, including Project Assistant at Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Communications Coordinator at Galerie Anhava, and Residency Programme Manager at HIAP. A graduate of the University of Helsinki with a Master of Arts in Art History, Karhunen has a strong background in managing exhibitions and art projects, contributing significantly to the Finnish art community.
