Alex Avila

Alex Avila is a Mechanical Design Engineer currently employed at Karem Aircraft, focusing on the design and analysis of VTOL tilt-rotor aircraft since July 2023. Previously, Alex worked as a Design Engineer at Honda Racing Corporation, tackling unique design challenges to support race car development using Catia V5. Additional experience includes roles as a Data and Systems Engineer at Flying Lizard Motorsports and a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AMP | Auto Motive Power, where responsibilities included engineering drawings and prototype testing. As Lead Powertrain Engineer and Vehicle Dynamics Engineer for UCI Anteater Racing, Alex oversaw powertrain systems and contributed to developing a lap-time simulator. Early career experience includes serving as a Bus Operator at Anteater Express and Lead Programmer for the Zotbotics Robotics Club at UC Irvine. Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine, completed in 2023.
