Quirin Hammer is a skilled immunologist with extensive experience in studying human immune responses to viral infections and tumor transformations. Currently serving as a Team Leader at the Karolinska Institutet since July 2018, Quirin has independently led a project that explored the response of natural killer (NK) cells to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Previously, Quirin worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the German Rheumatism Research Center Berlin from October 2013 to June 2018, where research focused on host-pathogen interactions involving cytomegalovirus, contributing to important insights into innate immune cell recognition. Quirin holds a Doctor of Science in Immunology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
