H.j. Jost

H.J. Jost is an accomplished executive and researcher with extensive experience in the field of analytical instruments and explosives trace detection. Jost serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Karsa Oy since June 2016, a spin-off from the University of Helsinki specializing in explosives trace detection. Prior experience includes being the Product Manager for IRIS at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where Jost was responsible for launching laser-based optical isotope ratio spectrometers, and serving as Senior Manager of the R&D Analytical Instruments Group at Novawave Technologies, focusing on the development of trace gas sensors utilizing advanced photonics technology. Jost's career began at the BAER Institute as a Senior Research Scientist, leading research at NASA Ames Research Center, and as a Research Associate at the National Research Council during a postdoctoral fellowship at the same center. Jost holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of Bern, earned between 1988 and 1995.
