Dorothee Grant

Dorothee Grant has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dorothee is currently serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of Kaveat since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Consumer Reports as a Natural Language Processing Engineer from September 2021 to April 2022, where they built an early warning system to identify product safety using NLP and improved model precision. Dorothee also had a role at Columbia University in the City of New York SHP as a Python Instructor from January 2020 to December 2021, where they co-taught and created the syllabus for a free accelerated class for high school students.

Dorothee has also worked as a Machine Learning Mentor at SureStart from June 2021 to September 2021 and as an NLP Researcher at The Earth Institute, Columbia University from May 2021 to August 2021. Dorothee gained research experience as a Research Assistant at NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (NASA SEDAC) from May 2019 to June 2021, where they analyzed satellite data and contributed to the production of a poverty layer for natural disaster relief aid estimation. Dorothee presented their research at the American Geospatial Union (AGU) Conference.

In addition, Dorothee worked as a Data Science Intern at Columbia University School of Professional Studies from January 2018 to June 2021, where they implemented HTML email templates and developed student prospect lists. Dorothee also had experience as an English and Math Tutor at Ivy-Way Academy from June 2018 to June 2019, teaching SAT prep courses and providing college admissions guidance counseling. Before that, they worked as an Actor Model at IMG from September 2015 to January 2018, creating images for ad campaigns for high fashion brands.

Dorothee Grant earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science from Cornell Tech from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Columbia University from 2018 to 2021. Dorothee obtained their High School Diploma from Red Creek High School in 2016.
