Carmel Burke

Carmel Burke is an experienced Information Security Officer with a strong background in cyber security risk management and compliance. Currently at KBC Bank Ireland since August 2021, Carmel specializes in cyber security risk and compliance. Prior to this role, Carmel worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation from September 2012 to July 2021, focusing on information security risk management and compliance across EMEA and North America. Carmel's career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where from August 2004 to August 2012, responsibilities included third-party IT assurance within the asset management industry, adhering to various reporting standards. Educational achievements include a BBS (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Limerick, an MSc (1st Hons) in Technology from Munster Technological University, and participation in an MBA program at the University of Gothenburg.
