Project Engineer at KBS

Kyal Curry has worked in the construction industry since 2016. In 2016, they were a Safety Officer at MSK Construction, Inc., where they shadowed the PM and Superintendent on a $8.4M project to renovate and expand the CLC & Hospice Center at the Durham VA Medical Center, conducted surprise safety inspections for the $11.7M above ground parking structure at the Tennessee VA Medical Center, and helped various staff with estimating, scheduling and planning, documentation, communication and supervision of subcontractors. In 2017, they worked as an Inspector/Intern at Froehling & Robertson, Inc. In 2019, they worked as a Project Engineer at Evans General Contractors, where they assisted the PM with submittals, punch lists, and RFI logs on a $20.7M and a $13.9M design specification building, prepared bid tabulations and quantity take offs per the estimator's request, prepared impact fees, building permits fees, GIS codes, and zoning ordinances, created a master database so estimators can determine when and where they can be aggressive on a controlled bid, and prepared subcontracts and defined scopes of work. Currently, Kyal Curry is a Project Engineer at KBS, Inc.

Kyal Curry attended Clemson University from 2015 to 2019, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science & Management. In 2017, Kyal obtained a Red Cross Certification. Kyal also holds certifications from the American Institution Constructors (AIC AC), LEED (LEED Green Associate), and OSHA 30 Certificate.
