Jeffrey Knueppel has extensive work experience in the transit industry. Jeffrey currently holds the position of Vice President & Corporate Transit Practice Leader at KCI Technologies, Inc., a role they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Corporate Transit Practice Leader at the same company from January 2020.
Before joining KCI Technologies, Inc., Knueppel worked at SEPTA, where they held various positions, starting as an entry-level Structural Engineer and progressing to the role of AGM/Chief Engineer. Jeffrey then served as the Deputy General Manager from July 2012 to September 2015, and ultimately became the General Manager from October 2015 to December 2019. In these roles, they had managerial responsibility for a public transit company with 9,500 employees and oversaw an operating budget of $1.4 billion and a capital budget of $700 million. SEPTA operates diverse modes of transportation, including Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail, Light Rail, Bus, and Paratransit.
In 1987, Knueppel worked as a Structural Engineer at AG Lichtenstein and Associates before joining SEPTA the following year.

Jeffrey Knueppel holds a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, which they obtained from 1985 to 1987. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering - BE degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution from 1981 to 1985. Jeffrey completed their high school education at Tenafly High School from 1977 to 1981. In addition to their educational qualifications, they have obtained certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the Maryland Department of Labor in March 2022 and from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in September 1991.
