Torsten Rahn

Torsten Rahn has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Torsten most recently worked at Mettler Toledo (Albstadt) GmbH as a Team Leader Software Architecture / System Architect, starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Software Architect - Consulting at the same company from November 2021 to July 2022.

Torsten also has experience working at KDE.org, where they served as a Virtual Globe Lead Developer / KDE Core Contributor since March 1998.

Additionally, they worked as a Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt from August 2020 to April 2022.

Earlier in their career, Torsten held the role of Software Architect & Software Engineer at basyskom GmbH, a leading Qt consulting company in DACH, from August 2008 to October 2021. At basyskom, they specialized in cross-platform software development and provided professional services for the Qt cross-platform framework.

Before that, they worked as an IT Consultant at credativ, GmbH from March 2004 to July 2008, and as a Technical Assistant at SUSE Linux Products GmbH from 2000 to 2002.

Torsten Rahn holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Management, which they obtained from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their education in Physics, earning a Diplom Physicist degree from Kiel University from 1993 to 1999. In terms of additional certifications, Torsten Rahn has obtained various qualifications such as the Nokia Certified Qt Specialist in Widget UI with Qt and Core C++ for Qt developers from Pearson VUE in 2011. Torsten also holds the Nokia Certified Qt Developer certification, which they acquired in 2009. Additionally, they have a certification in Quality Management Auditor (DIN EN ISO 19011 / DIN EN ISO 9001) from TÜV SüD in 2003.
