Sean Armstrong has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. In 1999, they began their career as a Materials Scientist at GE Global Research. In 2003, they moved to GE Plastics as a Process Engineer, where they invented a one-step UV cure acrylic optical coating with anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint properties for use as the optical cover layer on a Blu-ray disc. Sean also developed novel thermoplastic polymers for next generation optical media formats including Blu-ray and HD-DVD, and managed the installation of a $200,000 Class-1000 clean-room. In 2007, they joined Plextronics as the Director of Device Manufacturing Engineering, providing leadership in the design and commercialization of thin film Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) modules and managing OPV module manufacturing operations at two facilities. Sean also served as Manager of Device Fabrication, responsible for the construction and start-up of a multi-million dollar Printed Electronics pilot manufacturing line. From 2011 to 2022, they worked at Kurt J. Lesker Company, first as Technical Sales Manager, proactively supporting the sale of Thin Film Deposition products within the Eastern US, and then as Global Product Realization Manager, managing New Product and Process Development of thin film vacuum deposition systems. Sean is currently employed as Global Business Development Manager at KDF Technologies, LLC.

Sean Armstrong obtained a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science Engineering from Lehigh University between 1995 and 1999. Sean then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration from Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst between 2005 and 2007, with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General.
