With over 20 years of successful senior and executive management experience in the construction and utility industries, Steven Robinson is a proven leader in strategic planning and change management initiatives. His operational expertise has been an invaluable asset in numerous leadership positions where Robinson was responsible for running company-wide operational functions, as well as leading large-scale projects and initiatives from inception to successful completion.
Robinson has a bachelor’s in Business and Construction Management from DeVry University, as well as his MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management. After receiving his Michigan Master Electrical License, Robinson owned and operated his own company for several years before leaving the business to pursue a management opportunity at ComEd. During this time, Robinson’s leadership team developed and implemented a company-wide safety program known as the S.T.A.R. (Stop, Think, Act, and Review) program, resulting in 74 percent fewer OSHA-recordable incidents over a two-year period.
After his time at ComEd, Robinson held numerous senior management positions at a variety of companies and industries throughout North America, working in business development and operations to help increase revenue and lower costs through the implementation of efficient operating procedures.
Known for making and implementing sound strategic decisions, Robinson joined KDM Engineering in 2020 as Director of Operations to help streamline the company’s policies and procedures across departments and office locations. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, he is also assisting in contouring and delivering the strategic vision and companywide financial goals. Robinson brings high expectations and standards to the KDM executive management team, focusing on ethical business practices, client satisfaction, and a commitment to pursuing creative and practical solutions to problems.
Robinson has several certifications and affiliations, including being a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), a Construction Management Professional (CMP), member of the American Institute of Constructors (AIC), and member of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). He has also done extensive volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Make-A-Wish America.
