JaeHoon Shim is currently an advisor in Seoul at Keiretsu Forum. JaeHoon has a long and varied work history that includes positions such as lawyer, IPR Commissioner, and managing director. JaeHoon has a wealth of experience in fields such as law, compliance, IPR, and government relations.
JaeHoon Shim began their career in 2004 as the first in-house counsel for LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd. (now LG Display). In this role, JaeHoon was responsible for the legal affairs of the company. In 2005, JaeHoon left LG.Philips to join MPA Korea as a lawyer specializing in contracts, compliance, IPR strategies, and patent law. JaeHoon quickly rose through the ranks at MPA Korea and was eventually promoted to managing director in 2008.
In their role as managing director, JaeHoon was responsible for the overall operation of MPA Korea. JaeHoon oversaw a team of lawyers and support staff and was responsible for ensuring that the company complied with all applicable laws and regulations. JaeHoon also worked closely with the Korean government on various IPR issues.
In 2014, JaeHoon left MPA Korea to join the Korea Copyright Commission as an IPR Commissioner. In this role, JaeHoon was responsible for enforcing Korean copyright law and investigating possible infringements. JaeHoon also worked with the Korean government on various copyright and patent issues.
JaeHoon Shim completed a Bachelor of Arts at Seoul National University. JaeHoon then went on to obtain a certificate in Electronic Discovery from Georgetown University Law Center. Finally, they earned their Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law.
