Hester de Vries

Hester De Vries is a distinguished attorney and partner at Kennedy Van der Laan, specializing in Privacy and Personal Data Protection Law since September 2000. With a legal career that includes serving as Chair of the Dutch Privacy Law Association and as a researcher at the Computer Law Institute Vrije Universiteit, Hester has made significant contributions to privacy law scholarship and policy. Previous roles include senior policy maker at the Dutch Data Protection Authority, researcher at the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute, and extensive research positions at the University of Amsterdam and Computer Law Institute Vrije Universiteit. Hester De Vries holds a Ph.D. in law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where studies were completed between 1982 and 1993.
