Laura Shawhughes

Laura Shawhughes, MD, FACP, FHM, currently serves as the Medical Director of Utilization Review and Physician Advisor and Hospitalist at Kent Hospital since December 2016. Shawhughes has prior experience as a Hospitalist at The Miriam Hospital from June 2011 to November 2016, Yale-New Haven Hospital from July 2009 to September 2010, and Penn Medicine from July 2007 to June 2009. Shawhughes completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2007 and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School from 2000 to 2004. Shawhughes holds a Bachelor's Degree from Wellesley College, obtained between 1994 and 1998.
