Marcus Glenn began their career in marketing in 2007 as a Media Buyer/Advertising Specialist for the Augusta Chronicle (Morris Communications). In this role, they increased new business sales by selectively targeting the competitions advertisers, created compelling spec ads for print and online, and developed strong prospecting techniques to identify the most qualified businesses in the market.
In 2008, Marcus moved to BET Networks (a subsidiary of Viacom Inc.) as a Marketing Coordinator. Here, they developed and executed an email marketing campaign to promote brand awareness, which boosted sales by 60% and clientele base by 15%. Marcus also transitioned the mail-order model from business-to-consumer to business-to-business, earning lucrative contracts that totaled $25M in the first year. Additionally, they evaluated 3 years of sales data to develop a targeted delivery area for both traditional and digital media campaigns, growing viewership by 38% from the previous year.
In 2013, Marcus became a Marketing/Web Design Teacher at Gle High School. In this role, they used a variety of teaching techniques such as whole class work, group work, projects, discussions, and practical work to advance all students. Marcus also resourced materials such as textbooks, worksheets, computers, and interactive whiteboards, and regularly assisted individual students as required.
In 2016, Marcus joined Capitol Music Group/Block Entertainment as a Digital Marketing Specialist. Here, they managed digital sales and streaming accounts to improve brand positioning and growth, sourced and developed new strategic partnerships, social engagements, and advertising opportunities that generated new revenue streams, and collaborated with internal departments to execute national advertising campaigns, planned global digital distribution, and re-deployed a 3M+ consumer sales and marketing database.
In 2019, Marcus became the Owner/CEO of MDOT Global, a full-service Digital Marketing Agency that focuses on Brand Building through Social Media and Experiential Marketing. Marcus has helped build some of the biggest brands across all industries, and assists clients with business plan, branding, advertising, remodeling, and marketing.
Finally, in 2023, Marcus began their current role as the Director of Marketing And Public Relations for KENTECH. In this role, they are a growth marketer with a background in marketing operations. Marcus has experience developing campaigns across multiple channels, building outbound strategy, owning and growing inbound channels, as well as establishing the operational processes necessary to build a modern marketing organization.
Marcus Glenn graduated with a BA in Business Marketing and Management from Savannah State University in 2006. In 2009, they began a Masters in Marketing from Augusta State University - College of Business Administration and completed it in 2012. Marcus also completed an Executive MBA in Marketing/Marketing Management from West Virginia University in 2012.
