Jeremiah Kiplagat

Jeremiah Kiplagat serves as the Director at the Institute of Energy Studies & Research (IESR) since January 2015, overseeing business operations aimed at developing alternative revenue streams for Kenya Power & Lighting Company Ltd. Previously, Jeremiah held the position of Manager at IESR and served as Chairman of the Department of Energy Engineering at Kenyatta University from September 2012 to December 2014, where oversight of all academic activities was a key responsibility. Additionally, Jeremiah has experience as a lecturer and tutorial fellow at Kenyatta University from 2004 to 2014 and worked as a part-time lecturer at JKUAT from 2003 to 2006. Academic qualifications include a Postdoctoral Research degree in Solar Powered Cooling and a PhD in Solar Cooling from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as an M.Sc. in Renewable Energy and a B.Sc. in Appropriate Technology from Kenyatta University, complemented by KCSE credentials from Tambach High School.
