Mayuran Kanthasamy

Mayuran Kanthasamy has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information security. Mayuran is currently serving as the Vice President of Information Security and CISO at Kepler Communications Inc. Mayuran joined the company in July 2022.

Prior to this, Kanthasamy served as a Board Member on the VigiTrust Global Advisory Board from September 2021 to August 2022.

From May 2020 to July 2022, they worked at Varicent as the CISO and Chief of Information Security. In this role, they were responsible for designing, delivering, and managing the company's information and cyber security strategy.

Earlier in their career, Kanthasamy held various positions at Precima, a NielsenIQ Company, from April 2017 to May 2020. Mayuran served as the Associate Director of Cyber Security and Compliance, where they led a team in designing and managing cyber security risk and compliance services for the company. Mayuran was also responsible for establishing and implementing an enterprise-wide information security program and strategy.

From December 2016 to March 2017, Kanthasamy worked at Rogers Communications as a Manager of Information Security. In this role, they developed and maintained information security policies and standards and led a team for updating project security requirements.

Mayuran also had multiple roles at Rogers Communications from June 2014 to March 2017, including Senior Cyber Security Advisor and Senior Information Security Specialist.

From April 2014 to March 2015, Kanthasamy served as the Membership Chair on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Chapter of (ISC)2. Mayuran was also the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Chapter from April 2013 to March 2014.

Kanthasamy worked at LoyaltyOne as a Senior IT/Information Security Auditor from April 2013 to June 2014. Mayuran analyzed business processes and controls, utilized risk-based evaluation, and presented audit observations and recommendations to improve policies and procedures.

Prior to that, they were a Senior Information Security Consultant at MNP from May 2010 to April 2013. Mayuran designed and formulated IT security policies and conducted reviews of Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework and security programs.

Kanthasamy started their career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as an Information Security Consultant from December 2006 to October 2009. Mayuran was responsible for ISO 27001:2005 certification and the implementation of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) program.

Mayuran also worked as an IT Executive and Support at MAS Linea Aqua from October 2003 to October 2005, where they monitored security compliance, provided end-user support, and maintained system documentation.

Overall, Kanthasamy has a strong background in information security, with experience in leadership, strategy development, compliance, risk management, and audit.

Mayuran Kanthasamy earned a BSc. in Information Systems and Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), completing the degree between 1999 and 2003. Mayuran then pursued an MSc. in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London from 2005 to 2006. Mayuran obtained three additional certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in July 2011, Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in April 2011, and Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) from ISACA in March 2009.
