Amanda James

Amanda James has a diverse work experience in the field of UI design and creative direction. Amanda is currently working as the Head of UI Design at Kepler + Co since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a UI Design Lead at OnePointFour Consulting from March 2017 to February 2022. Before that, Amanda held multiple roles at CREACHA, including UI Design Lead from January 2014 to March 2017, and Creative Director - Digital from February 2013 to December 2013. Amanda also worked at Artwise Design in various roles such as Creative Director (Digital) from March 2011 to December 2013, Head of Design from April 2008 to February 2011, and Creative Director from 2008 to 2011. Overall, Amanda has extensive experience in UI design and has held leadership positions throughout their career.

Amanda James's education history includes a range of courses and certifications in various fields. In 1998, they obtained a Practical Computing Diploma from Ambassador College, specializing in Information Technology. The following year, they earned a Computer Graphics and Web Design Diploma (merit with distinction) from College Campus, focusing on Design and Visual Communications.

From 2014 to 2020, Amanda pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychological Counselling, specializing in Health Sciences and Social Services, from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. During their time at the university, they also completed the User-Centred Design - Module 1 course from The Interaction Design Foundation in 2015.

In recent years, Amanda has shown interest in web content writing, UX design, app design, and illustration. Amanda completed various courses on these topics in 2020 through Udemy, such as "How to Write Great Web Content - Better Search Rankings," "Sketching for UX Designers," "The Complete App Design Course - UX, UI and Design Thinking," and "Easy Illustration and 2D Animation."

Amanda has also obtained additional certifications to enhance their skills. In 2015, they completed User-Centred Design - Module 1 from The Interaction Design Foundation. In 2018, they achieved the certification of "BECOME A UX DESIGNER FROM SCRATCH" from the Interaction Design Foundation. Most recently, in 2021, Amanda obtained a certification in "Gamification: Creating Addictive User Experience" from the Interaction Design Foundation.
