Toby Chaplin is a Senior Event Sales Manager at KERB. Prior to this, they were the Events & Business Development Manager at Village Underground & EartH from November 2019 to December 2020.
Chaplin is responsible for managing four unique and versatile spaces at Village Underground and EartH, including a bar and kitchen, a 700 seater theatre, a 1200 person hall, and a 700 person Victorian Warehouse. In addition, they also manage the lettings of two prominent mural walls in Shoreditch.
Both venues run as self-funded arts centres, so Chaplin's focus is on curating a profitable programme of private events, such as brand activations, hackathons, conferences, etc., to ensure financial stability. Toby has overseen events from conception to completion, managing multiple budgets across a variety of projects at any one time.
Toby Chaplin began their educational career by attending Felsted School, where they studied English Literature, Toby'story, Psychology, and other subjects. Toby then went on to study Comparative American Studies with Communications and Media Studies at the University of Liverpool, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree.
