Serina McEntire has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Serina started their career in 1996 as an Owner and Personal Trainer at Home Bodies Personal Fitness, where they provided personalized fitness testing and training services. Serina then worked as an Aquatics Director at the Arkansas City Recreation Center from 1998 to 2000, overseeing aquatic programming and managing employees.
In 2002, Serina joined the University of Texas Medical Branch, initially as a Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator and later as a Research Associate II. During their time there, they contributed to clinical research projects.
From 2010 to 2013, Serina served as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Emergency Responder Human Performance Lab at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Their research focused on thermal and cardiovascular strain in firefighters and the cardiovascular strain of public safety officers.
Serina then transitioned to a teaching role at Valdosta State University in 2013. Serina held positions as both an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology, teaching courses and coordinating research and the Human Performance Lab.
In 2017, Serina became an Independent Beauty Guide for LimeLife by Alcone, where they led a team and empowered women through all-natural skincare and makeup.
In 2019, they joined Keswick Multicare as a Wise and Well Educator, responsible for increasing community engagement, education, and wellness. Serina also secured providers for consult sites and managed partnerships.
Currently, Serina is the Director of Education & Engagement at Keswick since 2022. Serina oversees health and wellness initiatives, curriculum development, program review, and budget management to improve member health journeys and create an environment conducive to older adult learning.
Serina McEntire earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Kansas State University in 1998. Serina then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the same university, which they completed in 2002. Later, they obtained a PhD in Clinical Science from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2009. In addition to their degrees, Serina McEntire holds certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer from AFAA, an IAFF "It Happens In Seconds" Trainer from the International Association of Fire Fighters, and in Mat Pilates from Peak Pilates.
