Deborah de Freitas

Deborah de Freitas has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Deborah has held various leadership roles in different organizations, demonstrating their strong management and strategic planning skills.

Deborah started their career at the Austin Public Library as a Volunteer Tutor for the Victory Program, where they personally tutored East Austin youth in homework skills.

Deborah then worked at Dell, where they held several positions including Marketing Communications Manager, Advertising Manager, Senior Online Marketing Manager, and Customer Experience Senior Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for driving customer satisfaction, loyalty, and online sales growth.

Deborah also worked at The Crossings as the Wellness Center Director, where they managed the development and operations of wellness programs and services.

At Bazaarvoice, Deborah served as the Director of Marketing Communications, leading global marketing efforts and significantly increasing revenue driven from marketing activities.

Deborah then joined Khoros as the Chief of Staff, Head of Employee Programs and Operations, and eventually as the VP of IT & Business Systems. In these roles, they managed various teams and projects, implemented new processes and systems, and supported over 100 tools in the organization's tech stack.

Additionally, Deborah served as President of the Board at Austin Bat Cave, where they worked to increase the reach of the organization's writing programs for Austin students.

Prior to their professional roles, Deborah worked as an Independent Consultant, providing services such as strategic planning, marketing campaigns, content development, event management, coaching, and employee training for local businesses, non-profits, and individuals.

Deborah de Freitas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin from 1986 to 1991. Deborah'smajor subjects were Psychology, English, and History, and they also pursued double minors in Philosophy and Physics. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including Khoros ERG Leader, #IamRemarkable Certified Facilitator, Communicating with Empathy, Leading in Crisis, and Supporting a Grieving Employee: A Manager's Guide.
