Annika Orne has a diverse work experience spanning various design roles and companies. Annika started their career as a Designer (Intern) at GLS Companies in 2012, where they gained valuable experience in the production side of design. Annika then worked as a Designer in the Department of Music at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, where they handled layout design for various materials. In 2014, they took on a role as a Designer at Bunce Backyard Productions, where they managed marketing and design work for a Christmas variety show.
Annika has also worked as a Digital Art Director (UX/UI) at Treat and Company and Knock Inc. Annika gained extensive experience in crafting customer journeys, owning the end-to-end creation of branded website experiences, and mentoring junior designers. Annika worked with a wide range of clients and vendors during their tenure, including Planned Parenthood, Sephora, Armani Beauty, and Target Optical, among others.
In 2020, Annika embarked on a self-employed career as a Freelance Designer, working on various design projects for clients. Annika took charge of their professional development and career trajectory, managing and delivering all elements of design projects from discovery to final design.
Annika joined Options MD in the same year and held two roles during their time there. As Lead Product Designer, they partnered with engineering and clinical advisors to identify patient needs and design solutions for the company's SaaS experience. As Head of Marketing and Creative, they led a complete revamp of Options MD's brand experience and executed shifts in strategy according to business requirements.
Annika's most recent role was as a Senior Product Designer at Kiddo Health, starting in 2023.
Throughout their career, Annika has demonstrated expertise in design strategy, research, ideation, testing, and iteration. Annika is proficient in tools like Sketch, Figma, and Principle and collects quantitative and qualitative data from user testing and market analysis to drive design solutions.
Annika Orne received their Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, with a focus on Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing, from the University of Northwestern - St. Paul. Annika completed their studies at the university from 2011 to 2014. In addition to their degree, they obtained three certifications from edX in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. In September 2022, they earned a Verified Certificate for Human-Computer Interaction I: Fundamentals & Design Principles. In January 2023, they obtained a Verified Certificate for Human-Computer Interaction II: Cognition, Context & Culture.
