Marika Countouris is an experienced music educator and director with a robust background in musical theatre. Currently serving as Adjunct Faculty in Musical Theatre at Howard University since August 2021, Marika also holds positions as Music Director for Monumental Theatre Company and Choral Arts Director at Georgetown Visitation. With experience as a Rocking Railroad Pianist at Kidville and as GDA Music Director at Gonzaga College High School, Marika has directed both vocals and pit orchestras for various productions. Previous roles include Associate Music Director for Constellation Theatre Company DC and Music Director for Redhouse Theatre, where Marika led a pre-professional production of "Peter and The Starcatcher." Additionally, Marika contributed as Music Director and Composer at Educational Theater Company and served as Music Director for Montgomery College's Summer Dinner Theatre. Marika holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from The Catholic University of America, completed in 2017.
