Brian Schmitz is a seasoned structural designer with extensive experience in the construction and engineering sectors. Currently serving as the Lead Structural Designer at Kiewit Power Engineers since April 2013, Brian excels in 3D structural modeling within a BIM environment and leads a collaborative design team to achieve project objectives. Previously, Brian held the position of Team Lead at Kiewit, focusing on fostering continuous improvement within the Tekla Community of Practice Team. With a background as an Architectural Draftsman and Network Administrator at ACI Boland Architects, Brian brings 15 years of experience in construction drawing development and significant IT management expertise. Additionally, Brian served as a Construction Inspector at Whiteman Air Force Base, ensuring project compliance with government specifications. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design with an Architectural Emphasis from the University of Central Missouri and a minor in Business from Missouri State University.
