Mark Abthorpe

Mark Abthorpe is a Partner at Kilburn & Strode since April 2018, previously holding the position of Senior Associate at Carpmaels & Ransford LLP from October 2005 to March 2018. With expertise in managing European and global patent portfolios for multinational corporations like Johnson & Johnson and Invista, as well as assisting domestic start-ups, Mark led business development initiatives in both the UK and the US and was involved in the recruitment, training, and mentoring of professional staff. Mark is a qualified European and Chartered Patent Attorney, having begun the career as a Trainee Patent Attorney after completing an Erasmus program at Philipps-Universität Marburg, where polymeric bisphosphonates were synthesized.
