Shan Kuang is a highly experienced painting conservator currently serving as the Conservator of Paintings at Kimbell Art Museum since July 2022. Previously, Shan held multiple roles at The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, from April 2016 to June 2022, including Associate Conservator and Research Scholar, Adjunct Professor, and Assistant Conservator, as well as completing a Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Painting Conservation. Additional experience includes a post-graduate internship in Painting Conservation at the National Gallery of Art and a conservation role at the Hamilton Kerr Institute. Shan's educational background includes a degree in Conservation of Easel Paintings from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Chemistry from Yale University.
