Neri Amara has a diverse and extensive work experience in the scientific field. Neri is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Kimia Therapeutics since April 2023. Prior to that, they held roles at Carmot Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Scientist from February 2023 to April 2023, and as a Scientist II from September 2021 to February 2023. Before joining Carmot Therapeutics, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Genentech from June 2018 to September 2021. Neri'searlier experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine from December 2013 to September 2021. During their time at Stanford, they were involved in various research projects and gained expertise in protein engineering, activity-based labeling, chemical synthesis, CRISPR/Cas9 technology, cell culture, fluorescence imaging, and mentoring undergraduate research projects through the SSRP-Amgen program.
Neri Amara has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in the period from 2004 to 2007. Subsequently, Amara pursued a Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry from the same institution between 2007 and 2009. Later, Amara obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, completing the degree program from 2009 to 2013.
