Thierry Fumeaux, MD, EMBA

Thierry Fumeaux, MD, EMBA has extensive work experience in various medical and leadership roles. Thierry currently serves as the CEO of Acthera Therapeutics Ltd. starting from February 2022. Prior to this, they were the President of the Foundation Council at The Swiss Intensive Care Medicine Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to promoting quality intensive care medicine and supporting research projects.

In 2021, Dr. Fumeaux also held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Kinarus AG, a medical company focused on patient-centered intensive care medicine. Additionally, they served as the Past-President of Société Suisse de Médecine Intensive SSMI SGI from September 2020 to September 2021.

Dr. Fumeaux's experience also includes being a member of the Swiss National COVID-19 Science Task Force from April 2020 to January 2021. Previously, they worked as a Médecin Chef at GHOL Groupement Hospitalier de l'Ouest Lémanique from September 2006 to December 2020, and as a Chef de Clinique at Service de Médecine Interne Générale HUG Genève from October 2005 to August 2006.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Fumeaux held research and clinical roles at Laboratoire de Recherche Soins intensifs HUG (J. Pugin) from October 1998 to September 2005, Hôpital de Sion from October 1997 to September 1998, and CHUV from April 1996 to September 1997.

Thierry Fumeaux, MD, EMBA has an extensive education history. Thierry attended the University of Lausanne from 1985 to 1991, where they obtained a Master in Human Medicine, a Physician Diploma, and a Physician degree in Medicine. Thierry then pursued post-graduate training, specializing in Internal Medicine and Intensive Medicine.

In 2019, Thierry Fumeaux enrolled at IMD Business School and completed the FBL Foundations for Business Leadership program, as well as the AMC - Advanced Management Concepts program. Thierry later obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from IMD in 2020, with a field of study in Management - Business.

Thierry Fumeaux also completed a Crisis Management Simulation and Training Course in 2020 at the Swiss Confederation - Swiss Armed Forces, focusing on Crisis Management.

In addition to their formal education, Thierry Fumeaux holds a certification in Ultrasonography from the Société Suisse d'Ultrasons en Médecine, obtained before 2018.

Finally, they earned a Master of Business and Administration (MBA) degree from IMD Business School in December 2020.
