Ansebe Bicoff- Smit has over 6 years of work experience in mental health. In 2018, they began working as a Mental Health Therapist at Kindering, where they support parents and babies/ young children after the birthing process. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at Lutheran Community Services Northwest as a Counseling intern, providing direct psychological services to individuals, couples, families, cultural specific clients and children. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Practicum Student at Multnomah University, where they conducted intake evaluations and provided individual Psychotherapy to three students.
Ansebe Bicoff- Smit obtained a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor from Multnomah University between 2013 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General from Stellenbosch University between 2006 and 2009. In addition, they have obtained a HIV Training Certificate from A Train Education (Continuing Education for Healthcare Professionals) in July 2015, a CPR and First Aid Certificate from the Red Cross in February 2015, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA).
